Submission of proposals

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS: NOVEMBER 1, 2006

When submitting a proposal, please send an e-mail with the following attachments in Microsoft Word:

  1. A completed proposal form (available here for download)
  2. An abstract (see guidelines below)


Abstract

Abstracts should be submitted in the language in which the presentation is to be made. 

The following should be included:

Title of Presentation
Name (First, Last) and country of each presenter.
Session format (select from list below)
Subtheme (select from list below)
Text of abstract (max 250 words)

Please format as follows:

  • Margins from top/bottom and left/right should be 1cm.
  • The font Times New Roman, 12 point, should be used
  • Paragraphs should be single-spaced, with a double space between paragraphs

FORMAT OF PRESENTATION

Presenters may apply to present a paper presentation, a symposium, a round table, or a poster. Details are as follows:

Paper presentation

The Programme Committee will group two or three papers on a related topic.
In most cases, a presenter is allocated 30 minutes: 20 minutes for presentation, and 10 minutes for discussion.  If required, presenters may apply for 45 minutes (35 minutes presentation, and 10 minutes discussion), although the organizers reserve the right to allocate 30 minutes.

Symposium


This is a session organised by the person submitting the symposium proposal. It allows several speakers to present on a common topic and then engage in interaction with each other and with the audience. Length: 1,5 hours or more. If required, presenters may apply for longer sessions.

Round Table Discussion


A paper is presented in some detail by one or more presenters and discussed with a small audience. This format is appropriate for papers addressing topics best pursued through in-depth discussion. Length: 45 min

Workshop


The organiser conducts activities in which participants will learn about a certain approach or tools. Formal presentation is kept to a minimum.  Length: 45 min or 1,5h.

Poster Presentation


A visual display is prepared in order to present a study, a project, an experiment etc. The presenter stands next to the poster and discusses the work in an individualised and informal way. Length: 45 min
